Join Social Leaders Cymru – Funded Skills & Development!

We have some exciting news for the third sector in Wales! Applications and registrations of interest are now open for the Social Leaders Cymru series of programmes. Delivered in partnership with Clore Social Leadership and the Wales Co-operative Centre, Social Leaders Cymru will be the first online skills and development programme to bring together the third sector from across Wales. About Social Leaders Cymru

The programme aims to assist the recovery of the sector from Covid-19 by enhancing resilience, strengthening communities and increasing the diversity of leaders.

Programmes will develop the skills, capabilities and leadership of individuals and organisations, thereby creating a powerful cadre of diverse third sector leaders who will inspire the next generation and role model a set of behaviours which benefit the common good.

It will be delivered using topic-specific modules, platforms and learning tools developed and tested by Clore Social, as well as other tried-and-tested leadership development resources.

Social Leaders Cymru Programme options:

A six-month online programme designed to help emerging leaders build their leadership potential, strengthen their networks, and drive social change. 3-6 years’ leadership experience.

A seven-month online programme designed for experienced leaders in the social sector to enhance and refine their leadership and make a real and lasting impact within the sector. 6+ years’ leadership experience.

<strong>6 October 2021 – 29 April 2022</strong>

A six-month series of masterclasses and networking for trustees of charities and social enterprises led by expert facilitators, designed to engage, challenge and inspire.

3 November 2021 – 1 April 2022

A four-month programme developing key skills and techniques to succeed and grow in a role, engaging new managers who are excited by the prospect of driving social change and have aspirations of being a leader in the future. 0-3 years’ management experience.

Application deadline: 6 September 2021

<strong>January/February 2022</strong>

A five-week self-guided course designed to equip social sector leaders with the tools, knowledge, and networks that they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Various levels of experience.

<b>Application deadline: 4 October 2021</b>

March – May 2022

A two-month skills and development programme for busy community and grassroots leaders to grow their impact through building influence, confidence and a support network, with a focus on wellbeing.

Community/grassroots volunteers/staff.

Who can apply?

It will cater to people at different career stages and levels of experience; and those in big and small organisations. This includes those working in the fields of social justice, social service and social change.

The programme is for paid or voluntary staff from across the social sector in Wales, including charities, social enterprises, grassroots organisations and community projects, CICs, CSR departments, etc. Applications are especially encouraged from women, people from black and minority backgrounds, and those working outside of major Welsh cities.
