Social businesses like yours help and support communities across Wales. Whether your businesses change lives, saves the environment or creates opportunities, you are having a positive impact and making the world a better place.
It’s our job to support this amazing sector and make sure it’s the best it can be. We’ve pulled out all the stops for this year’s conference and have a line up of inspiring speakers, informative masterclasses and interactive fringe events to give you the ideas, practical skills and motivation to grow your social enterprises and take them to the next level.
World leading social entrepreneur and mentor Sam Conniff Allende headlines the Social Business Wales Conference 2019, alongside inspirational endurance athlete and TV presenter Lowri Morgan. We also have an excellent host in BBC’s Jennifer Jones and representatives from two highly successful enterprises, who will give an insight into their businesses and the positive impact they’re having on their communities.
Sam’s unique take on business is explained and explored in his critically acclaimed book ‘Be More Pirate, or How To Take On The World And Win’.
From rogues to role models: Sam Conniff will reveal the radical strategies of Golden Age pirates, and updates them into clear solutions for making your mark on the 21st Century. Be More Pirate draws parallels between the strategy and innovation of (Welsh) legends like Henry Morgan with modern day rebels, like Great Thunberg, Malala and Blockchain, and reveals how to apply their tactics to life and work today.
A journey from being told you’d never run again to racing in some of the World’s toughest endurance events.
If you ever needed proof that anything is possible, come to the conference and hear the story of Lowri Morgan. From ultra marathons in the Amazon and Arctic, to being a mum and TV presenter, Lowri will not fail to inspire you.
Our host for the day will be a familiar face to many. Jennifer Jones is the presenter of BBC’s ‘Wales Today’ news programme. Jennifer is originally from Bangor, a Welsh speaker, and chair of two panel discussions at the conference.
