Communities Creating Homes
Our Communities Creating Homes project offers support and advice to new and existing organisations looking to develop community-led housing schemes in Wales.

The goal of the Communities Creating Homes project is to develop and stimulate demand for the co-operative and community-led housing approach throughout Wales. Support is available to new and existing community-led schemes at any stage of development. So far the project has helped develop 130 new homes and trained 230 people to manage their accommodation effectively.
Community-led housing schemes often include groups of people who collectively own, manage, have a say in their accommodation – from shared houses, to blocks of flats, to entire housing estates. Together they take responsibility for arranging repairs, making decisions about rent and who joins or leaves the co-operative. Community-led housing can be a good way to get affordable housing and gives people more control over where they live.
The Communities Creating Homes project is funded by The Nationwide Foundation and Welsh Government and delivered by the Wales Co-operative Centre.
